If your job offers no flexibility over how you spend your working hours (for example, if you operate a cash register all day long), then this course may not be ideal. The strategies we discuss are designed to help you optimize the way you work by teaching you techniques for calibrating your work activities to your body’s energy level, empowering you to get more done in less time.
Optimizing your performance will require a time investment on your part, at least at the beginning. To get the most out of this course, we recommend planning on 90 minutes per week to learn the material and integrate the action items into your routine. If you’re truly strapped for time, set your alarm clock to ring an hour earlier just once a week in each of the first 2 weeks. The time savings you’ll achieve thereafter will enable you to learn the materials without adding to your workload.
While the recommendations in the program are derived from research in behavioral science, cognitive psychology, and human physiology, we will not be reviewing that material in scholarly depth. Over the next two months, you're going to learn how to integrate the best insights from science of top performance into the way you live and work.
First, we’re going to start with a series of interactive benchmarking exercises designed to help you see new opportunities for optimizing your schedule. You will receive personalized feedback with insights to help you (1) fine tune the way you work and (2) optimize your evenings.
Then, each week for 6 weeks, you’ll receive new video modules that focus on a unique aspect of peak performance. Each module is broken down into 5-15 minute chunks because (a) bite-size learning is more effective, and (b) so you can sneak in a lesson over lunch, at the gym, or on your commute.
In addition to the videos, you'll also receive the course in audio files, a copy of our presentation slides, and a printable transcript, so that you can learn the material in a way that works with your schedule and preferred learning style.
Along with each lesson, you will receive interactive worksheets to guide you through the process of putting the insights to use.
Also included are a list of recommended tools you can use to incorporate the findings into your life, including physical products (for example, the best sleep mask on the market), smartphone apps, and further readings that allow you to take a look behind the science and go deeper with the course material.
